Summary
We’re looking for a quirky-voiced, web-savvy Copywriter. The ideal candidate will support our senior copywriter and marketing department, and work closely with the design, product, and executive teams. This is an on-site position, located in the hub of SF’s financial district.
Responsibilities
• Reports to and works with senior copywriter to write copy for all marketing needs using the Blurb voice to ensure consistency of the brand across all mediums.
• Produce compelling, targeted copy for website, including CMS population and SEO writing.
• Support creative development of other marketing collateral, including event collateral and special projects.
• Contribute to the corporate blog.
• Help maintain the in-house style guide.
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of full-time writing experience at an online company or long-term experience as an established freelancer working for Internet-based companies
• Experience driving results and site visitor growth with SEO and high comfort level introducing keywords into creative copy
• Experience in metadata strategy and CMS population
• Tech savvy and not afraid to learn new software
• Degree in creative writing, journalism, or a related field
• Portfolio that shows range, versatility, and talent in crafting web copy and consumer marketing copy
• Ability to write in a conversational tone that’s in line with the Blurb voice
• Superb attention to detail and ability to take projects from concept to creation to proofing
• Great communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with a creative/marketing/editorial team
• High comfort level working on a wide range of projects
• Experience in problem-solving and changing creative direction on the fly, with excellent results
• Adaptable to quick turnarounds and multiple deadlines
• Experience and comfort with feedback and rewrites when necessary
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A love of books and a sense of humor are very desirable.
